For context, It was about 9:15 PM on October 25th, 2024. Me and three of my best friends just made some tacos for dinner. One of my friends then left for a Halloween party, she was invited to. One of the guys was her boyfriend so we were all riding on our motorcycles back to his place at Riverfront Village, from mine at The Preserve. We went from Helen Keller Blvd to University Blvd, about 35 MPH as the posted limit and as it was cold but we still wanted a quick ride to drop off her makeup bag at his place and then back to mine to hangout. As for the main part of the story, just as we crossed the University Blvd. bridge over Mcfarland there was a silver Mazda sedan taking the exit ramp off to get onto University. The light was green even after we pass through the intersection too, but the girl driving was now at the yield sign as we were just about a second to cross into the intersection. The driver still pulled out in front of the three of us; as for me I was the second in our staggered riding formation already in the left lane going straight. The Mazda then was on the dotted line for the two main lanes going straight, and acting as if she couldn't decide to pick what lane to pull out into. With this my friend that was leading, almost had his back tire hit so he swerved in and out of the turn lane leading into Paul Bryant Dr.("PW") next to the Circle K. The driver now was slowing down with brake lights but for me, she was coming into my line of path and I would be hitting her, so I swerved into the turn lane to "PW." This was as I thought after almost hitting my friend on a motorcycle she might go back to the first lane/ maybe she wanted to be in the turn lane going straight. But as I found out she wanted to be in that turn lane, because then she decided to slowly move diagonally into the turn lane. Now at this point this would've been into me/ right in front of me. So I was planning on just letting her in and swerving back out but with how fast she was moving I decided to brake but not too hard as I didn't know where my last friend in this situation was, just somewhere behind me. But as I noticed the turn lane had one car in it already and the amount of space I had left, I only had one choice left was to swerved slightly so I could angle myself into a small gap between the two cars. As my left is blocked by a concrete median into oncoming traffic. With that though, I manage to minimize the damage to myself, the car in the turn lane, and my bike as I originally was going to the hit the car in the middle and either go through the window or fly over. Now I was angled more to the right like I needed but still into the rear right passenger taillight and then I was sent flying out to the intersection but in a tumbling manner than a sliding. The girl in the silver Mazda that came from McFarland, stopped got out asked if the other car was okay and then my two friends and then left down Paul Bryant Dr. as one of my friends barely missed her license plate. At this point, I am now on the ground with my two friends running over and the driver of the other car coming over to check on me. Anyways, with that as the Silver Mazda never fully touched or hit me just cutting me off and causing this scenario to unfold, Tuscaloosa PD still told me it wasn't criminal, even though she just ran away before they got there. And technically I am at fault of this accident, my insurance could go after her to get more money for the damages done to me but legally I was stuck. Even after this, insurance wouldn't start any investigation until I got videos implicating her so they could go after her. But DCH, told me no and the Circle K didn't have anything in that direction, so the verdict on the insurance side never changed.
